Okay, I still haven't gotten around to finishing up the non-frames version of the site. It's tough to redo work you think of as done, I'll tell you that much. Which probably isn't a great point-of-view for someone who works in a revision-heavy business (I'm in advertising). Go screw.

We've been gearing up for our first show in two years, and it's going to be an interesting night. We're slowly heading into the more country oriented material we've been trying to get at for the past few months... I think this particular line-up is the best live version, by far. (Check the news section for more on that).

The big issue we've been deciding, believe it or not, is just what cover(s) we should add to our set. We played my sister's wedding back in January, and that was all covers. Mostly stuff from the 60's and 70's. It did teach us one thing: we're not a cover band. The main issue is one of vocals... I'm not a noted interpreter of American popular song.

Anyway, if anyone has an idea of a song they'd like to hear us lovingly mutilate, please feel free to email your suggestions.

A couple of months ago, I had a brief flirtation with the Apple OSX "Garageband" program. It was nice to work on music in a different way than I'd even really tried before... constructing a song, rather than composing one. Again, a realization: I'm not Trent Reznor. I futzed around with this thing for longer than I care to admit, and it still kind of just... lies there. But it's got moments.

Here's "Chupacabra". (The goat-eater, roaming the murky nights of Puerto Rico, seeking prey. The hunt is successful, then the sunrise forces the beast back into it's cave).

Anyway, more soon. Here's the link of the week:
The Overnightscape. The internet radio broadcast of one of America's undersung geniuses, Frank Nora. Are his pithy observations those of the outsider looking in, or the insider looking out? Is there a difference?
